Psalms 90

A Prayer of Moses the man of God.

1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

7 For we are consumed in thine anger, and in thy wrath are we troubled.

8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we bring our years to an end as a talethat is told.

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but labour and sorrow; for it is soon gone, and we fly away.

11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger, and thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto thee?

12 So teach us to number our days, that we may get us an heart of wisdom.

13 Return, OLord; how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14 O satisfy us in the morning with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory upon their children.

17 And let the beauty of theLordour God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Psalms 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of theLord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.

3 For he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his pinions, and under his wings shalt thou take refuge: his truth is a shield and a buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;butit shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the reward of the wicked.

9 For thou, OLord, art my refuge! thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalms 92

A Psalm, a Song for the sabbath day.

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto theLord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

3 With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; with a solemn sound upon the harp.

4 For thou,Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

5 How great are thy works, OLord! thy thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this:

7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

8 But thou, OLord, art on high for evermore.

9 For, lo, thine enemies, OLord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn hast thou exalted likethe horn ofthe wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also hath seenmy desireon mine enemies, mine ears have heardmy desireof the evil-doers that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 They that are planted in the house of theLordshall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and green:

15 To shew that theLordis upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Psalms 93

1 TheLordreigneth; he is apparelled with majesty; theLordis apparelled, he hath girded himself with strength: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

3 The floods have lifted up, OLord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

4 Above the voices of many waters, the mighty breakers of the sea, theLordon high is mighty.

5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, OLord, for evermore.

Psalms 94

1 OLord, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.

2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render to the proudtheirdesert.

3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

4 They prate, they speak arrogantly: all the workers of iniquity boast themselves.

5 They break in pieces thy people, OLord, and afflict thine heritage.

6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

7 And they say, TheLordshall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob consider.

8 Consider, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastiseth the nations, shall not he correct,evenhe that teacheth man knowledge?

11 TheLordknoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, OLord, and teachest out of thy law;

13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14 For theLordwill not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 For judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless theLordhad been my help, my soul had soon dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, OLord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by statute?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22 But theLordhath been my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.

23 And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own evil; theLordour God shall cut them off.

Psalms 95

1 O COME, let us sing unto theLord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, let us make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

3 For theLordis a great God, and a great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.

5 The sea is his, and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before theLordour Maker:

7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, Oh that ye would hear his voice!

8 Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness:

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved withthatgeneration, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

11 Wherefore I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.

Psalms 96

1 O SING unto theLorda new song: sing unto theLord, all the earth.

2 Sing unto theLord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

4 For great is theLord, and highly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols: but theLordmade the heavens.

6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7 Give unto theLord, ye kindreds of the peoples, give unto theLordglory and strength.

8 Give unto theLordthe glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9 O worship theLordin the beauty of holiness: tremble before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the nations, TheLordreigneth: the world also is stablished that it cannot be moved: he shall judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

12 Let the field exult, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy;

13 Before theLord, for he cometh; for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.

Psalms 97

1 TheLordreigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad.

2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the foundation of his throne.

3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his adversaries round about.

4 His lightnings lightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of theLord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth;

6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples have seen his glory.

7 Ashamed be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

8 Zion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced; because of thy judgments, OLord.

9 For thou,Lord, art most high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 O ye that love theLord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Be glad in theLord, ye righteous; and give thanks to his holy name.

Psalms 98

A Psalm.

1 Sing unto theLorda new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath wrought salvation for him.

2 TheLordhath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the nations.

3 He hath remembered his mercy and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4 Make a joyful noise unto theLord, all the earth: break forth and sing for joy, yea, sing praises.

5 Sing praises unto theLordwith the harp; with the harp and the voice of melody:

6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the King, theLord.

7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein;

8 Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together;

9 Before theLord, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

Psalms 99

1 TheLordreigneth; let the peoples tremble: he sitteth upon the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

2 TheLordis great in Zion; and he is high above all the peoples.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name: holy is he.

4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Exalt ye theLordour God, and worship at his footstool: holy is he.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call on his name; they called upon theLord, and he answered them.

7 He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.

8 Thou answeredst them, OLordour God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

9 Exalt ye theLordour God, and worship at his holy hill; for theLordour God is holy.
